Keeping site records honest through Bangkok’s rain season
Monsoon delays scramble programmes. Visual notes that separate weather stoppage from trade delay protect both the site team and the contract.
From May through October, afternoon storms cut outdoor work without warning. Programmes that ignore rain simply accumulate unexplained lag. Site managers who document weather stoppages with time-stamped frames and a short note on which fronts closed protect themselves when claims discussions begin.
Photograph the sky and the work front in the same session. A wet slab with an empty crane tells a clearer story than a rain gauge reading alone. Record which trades stood down and which indoor works continued — fit-out floors often keep moving while façades pause.
Update the milestone board the same day. Leaving rain notes for Friday invites argument about whether Tuesday’s loss was weather or labour. A dated visual card shared with the resident engineer keeps the record shared rather than contested.
